A SUMMER COCKTAIL

SGROPPINO AL LIMONE

Sgroppino is an Italian cocktail served in Italy, typically as an after-dinner cocktail and dessert.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of drinking one, this is your sign!

The slushy, lightly fizzy texture, comes from a combination of sorbet, vodka and Prosecco.

It’s the perfect refreshing cocktail on a hot summer day, you’ll want to drink it quickly once it’s in front of you!

Ingredients

  • Frozen lemon sorbet - ¼ cup (about one scoop)

Sgroppino is traditionally made with lemon sorbet, but you can replace it with lemon gelato, for a creamier texture. Lemon ice cream or sherbet is fine too.

  • Prosecco - 3 oz, chilled - since there are only 3 ingredients, use a good quality Prosecco.

  • Vodka - 1 oz, chilled

Step 1

Scoop the frozen sorbet into a bowl. Pour in half of the Prosecco and whisk until you have a smooth icy mixture.

Whisk in the vodka and remaining Prosecco.

This can also be done in a blender.

Step 2

Freeze.

Step 3

Serve. Pour into champagne flutes or other pretty glasses, and garnish with a fresh sprig of fresh mint or a twist of lemon.

Use NA sparkling wine and elder flower syrup (no vodka) for a non alcoholic alternative.
